Conditional Use Permit Approved!

A huge THANK YOU to parents, students, staff and board members who attended the Gastonia City Planning Meeting last night (February 4th).  The strong showing of support and the detailed preparation done by architects and engineers working in behalf of the school all contributed to a unanimous vote to approve the conditional use permit.  This was the last big hurdle before the real work could begin.  Next steps - Bouma Construction, in conjunction with the school's Building Committee, is beginning the bidding process for the project while fine tuning the project budget.

New Home for 6th-12th grade

In partnership with The Charter School Development Corporation and the Challenge Foundation, the old Winn-Dixie located at 2970 South New Hope Road in Gastonia has been purchased and will be retrofitted to serve the 6th-12th grades of PCCS-CFA.  The 45,000 sq ft building is basically an open box which will be filled in with classrooms and auxiliary space to support the college preparatory and fine art focuses of the the school.  The project is slated for completion the end of July 2010 to allow for opening school in August.

What can you do?

Talk to family, friends and neighbors about PCCS-CFA.  Invite them to attend information meetings held at 6pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the auditorium or schedule a tour.

Financially support the upfit of the new campus.  All proceeds of our 2010 Run For the Money Campaign will go towards this project.  Now is the time to really step up and contribute.  If you contributed $50 last year, consider $75 or $100.  More information on this fund drive coming soon!
